Eric Ochs is one of the premier custom knifemakers in the industry today. He researches his blade and handle materials thoroughly to ensure they can withstand the abuse he designs his knives to take. Almost all of Eric's designs are created for useful simplicity and balance while providing superior grip and control.
Ground control to your to-do list: Ever find yourself looking for extra chores just so you can pull out your knife and put it to work? Us too. Designer Eric Ochs feels the same. Meet the Terrestrial tactically-inspired everyday carry knife. Time to hit the ground running.
When he set to work on this one, Eric Ochs of Sherwood, Oregon was determined to deck it out with details. That's just what he did with this otherworldly everyday carry, starting with the eye-catching blade shape. Though the basic form stays true to a traditional spear point, the blade touts a harpoon feature on the spine, adding serious depth and elevating its utility by providing a solid thumb rest. The 3.355" stainless steel blade is polished with a satin finish for excellent corrosion resistance.
The durable, G10 handles stand up to the blade's high aesthetic with a symmetrical carved pattern. It's a true workhorse: the handles house a solid locking liner and smooth IKBS technology. Leveraging a ball bearing-based pivot mechanism allows the blade to deploy quickly and with reduced friction thanks to precision-engineered stainless steel spheres. No spring-assist needed. Custom knife designers Flavio Ikoma and Rick Lala invented the IKBS system that sets lubed ball bearings into the folding knife pivot. The result is rapid blade deployment that is smooth and fast. The Terrestrial: ready to take on a world full of dirty jobs.
